Long trails line the dune-swept seafront in El Toyo. These elegant wooden walkways make up the Paseo Maritimo – a prime spot for strolling. Look out for beautifully crafted look-out points along the way and stop to drink in the hypnotising sea views and spine-tingling sunsets.
Much of this resort is relatively new after being jazzed up to host the Olympic Village for the 2005 Mediterranean Olympic Games. Life centres on the lakeside plaza with its stylish, chic bars and eateries. There are also landscaped gardens bursting with palms, plus luxury low-rise villas.
